Hi,

In Portugal (where I am from) there is this concept of a family doctor (the same doctor follows you as you grow older). Is there such a concept in the UK? How I find one (public or private)?

In the UK a general practitioner (GP) provides care to any patient living within their catchment area. You can find your local one here https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-gp.
GPs provide the kind of family doctor care I think you're looking for.
If your GP feels a specialist medical opinion is needed about a specific issue, they will refer your child to an NHS paediatrician in a hospital. There are very long waiting lists now for most specialties so some people choose to pay for private care. Private GPs are also available.
