What kind of rash does this look like?

Came up on DC two days ago. Initially it looked a bit like heat rash but it's now quite raised and a few have black dots in the middle.

It's on the top of DC's thigh.

Blocked pores?

familyissues12345 · 02/05/2024 09:12

Could they be bites?

SnackAttacks · 02/05/2024 09:15

I don't think so, my DC (21 months) has had blocked pores and they generally don't look as raised as these do, the photo doesn't really show it well. They're slightly rounded. It's also slightly more red than the photo shows and takes up the majority of the top of the thigh.

Might be the start of molluscum contagiosum?

McConkeysPlate · 02/05/2024 09:18

Looks like molluscum

SnackAttacks · 02/05/2024 09:52

I was just looking at pics and thought molluscum and then saw this random spot on DC's thumb and now I'm thrown because that is more like the HFM DC had a few months back. Although, I can only find this one that looks like that and some new ones ones on the flank that are red and dotted around like heat rash.

I should have said, DC does have a mild cold but it's pretty much constant with nursery so it's hard to tell if that's related.

Molluscum

Superscientist · 03/05/2024 09:55

I would pop a long to your local pharmacy. It's the easiest way to get eyes on a rash!

Molluscum. My DS has had it for 2 years. It lasts for bloody ever.

SnackAttacks · 06/05/2024 14:26

I did go to the pharmacy and they couldn't confirm. They think it's probably molluscum but weren't 100%. However, the flesh coloured spots seem to be spreading over more places on DC's body.

@ncforuchelp Your poor DS, that's an awfully long time. Any tips/recommendations for living with it?
