DD straddle injury torn skin on labia!

DD (3yo) fell off her bike today and complained that he vagina hurt but wouldn’t let me look at it for ages. Finally had a look and looks like there is a a tear on one side in between her labia majora and labia minora! There is no bleeding and I’m not sure if it is deep but it is noticeable when I gently pull the outer labia. I’m calling the doctors tomorrow morning but has anyone else experienced anything similar? I really hope she doesn’t need stitches with it not bleeding. She’s not complaining of it hurting now but could be that she’s just distracted playing

Ouch!! No advice here except that she might need to go to A&E

Dd10 jumped in some water on holiday and landed on a rock. Her vagina was cut and really bruised. Was awful. I did salt baths and ibuprofen. It did heal fine but my all means get a medical opinion

There is a a time limit by which stitches need to be done to be effective (12hrs best) but can be extended. If you think that stitches may be necessary it may be worth taking her to A&E tonight. Also, if she does need stitches it will need to be done by a specialist, possibly under anaesthetic.

This happened to me as a kid on a bike.

I told my mum when I couldn't go to the toilet because it stung too much.

I went to A&E and they gave me something (ointment or something) and then I peed right there in a bucket. Gallons. The feeling of needing to go but not being able to was awful.

I'd take her to A&E in case she needs stitches. Also, it might sting her when she wees do she might hold her urine which isn't good. I wouldn't want to delay treatment.

Go to A&E or call 111 at least.

I would take her to A&E.

Thanks everyone! Spoke to 111 and they advised as she had no bleeding at all, still playing and doing normal activities and also still going to the toilet as normal then it’s best to make an appointment with GP tomorrow for them to have a look at.

they mentioned that vaginal area tends to heal quite quickly so unless she’s obviously in pain then it can wait until tomorrow.
