Hey all, I have an 18 month DS. he is usually a relatively good sleeper. Calpol and childrens ibroprohen usually work well for him if he has a cold or teething etc. But last tight they would help for a few hours e.g 2 and he would then be screaming again. I'm alternating between the two and following dosage/timings instructions carefully. Has anyones DC ever had teething that hurt so much calpol or ibro didnt work? I'm wondering if it is an unusually bad teething period?! No idea tbh but he has howled all night poor thing and much of this morning. No obvious temperature according to our thermometer.

No this isn’t normal. You need to see a doctor to rule out a more serious issue. Do you have a walk in centre in your area if not you should ring 111.

If he is constantly under pain relief this maybe masking a temperature.

Quite possibly an ear infection.

Thanks guys. Yeah I took temperature a few times and is normal but will try when he is outside the pain relief window too to check it's not being masked by calpol. He really perked up earlier and ate a whole bowl of porridge and was running about but he is a bit up and down every few hours. Had a super solid looking poo so possibly constipation. Have tried a few prunes to see if that makes a difference. If he develops a temperature or seems really distressed again I'll call 111.
