20 month old honey and lemon drink

Has anyone tried giving their 20 month old a drink of warm water, honey and lemon? My DD has had a cough for months now and it's gotten worse past 2 weeks. Wondering if this is something worth trying as I know honey can be dangerous for under 1?

Has she been to the GP?

My Mum used to give us warm honey and lemon when we had a cold, the honey can soothe. But yes, not for under 1s due to the risk of botulism. But your DD is over one.

@Melly1991 can I ask if you found anything that worked for your DD? My son has had a mucus cough for months now, and we haven’t had much luck at the GP either. We were looking at a cool mist humidifier, not sure if they’re worth a try?
