Disimpaction help! Is this the end of it? (graphic pic)

Excuse the graphic pic, my 5 year old only just made it to the general vicinity of the loo.

We've only been on a disimpaction regime for 3 days but he's now consistently having very liquid poos. The bits in this seem to be seeds from seeded bread and other fibrous bits from his diet. But I spoke to someone at the bowel and bladder service we were referred by and they seemed to suggest we should still keep going with the high levels of movicol just to make sure?!

Everything I've read seems to suggest this is the brown watery stage and means it's complete. They never did a scan so they don't actually know if he was severely impacted or not. But it does seem quick.

Can anyone advise?

He's very sore now after the sachets and instantly goes to the toilet so I'm very loathe to give him the high quantities, he's only had 2 today as per the suggested maintenance dose.

No that will be seepage from around the impacted stool. I'd keep on going.

Thanks.... So what exactly should I be looking for? There weren't really lumps of poo only like fibrous things?

I always say to carry on disimpaction until there has been 3 days of copious quantities of stool the consistency of cheap gravy.

You will be able to tell, it's hard to explain but loads of very soft stools and liquid. It takes longer than you think. If you are worried your doctor will be able to feel stomach and bowel to see if its complete. It's not nice x

Gave him the stimulant last night as prescribed and this morning we've seen a nappy with hard bits in it, so assume we are now just getting to the 'good stuff'?

You will get lots of hard lumps and rabbit dropping type lumps followed by a huge long and fat poo. You will be amazed how it has got out in one piece.
You are getting the overflow atm.

Definitely not at the end. As pp have said- it's just seepage. You need to keep the treatment going much longer.

Have you watched the poo nurses video? There is a downloadable Bristol stool chart on the website that is very helpful. Just google the poo nurses. They describle the whole process in minute detail, but it is useful if you aren't sure what stage you are at.

Put lots of barrier cream on his bum and use plain water not wipes.
