My 3.5year is due to get tonsil and adenoids removed next week having been on the waiting list for a year . I’m panicking about the recovery- how bad will it be? Have been told up to 2 weeks at home from daycare/ preschool, lots of painkillers . He’s not the easiest of children to have confined to the house at the best of times nor am I and I am stressing about levels of pain and how difficult he will find it. He also has a lingering cough at the minute, if still there or day of operation will they postpone? I have booked annual leave but will still have to do the school run for older siblings as have no support.
any advise / support from those who have gone through this before ? They say encourage normal eating after but he’s picky at the best of times so again stressing about this!

I had this done when I was about 4 I think, lots of soft foods and ice cream and keep painkillers topped up, get him a couple of lovely new toys to have once it's done, as much screen time as he wants, the relief of not having constant ear and throat infections after was amazing, mum said I was a different kid after I had it done and I've never had any issues since, it's so worth it.
