ECG and specialist opinion...how long to wait?

My 12 yr old went to a&e last Tuesday for a high heart rate (around 145 but did peak at 170 at one point according to her tracker watch)and some pains in chest. She had a high temp which they think has caused the high heart rate.

However she had an ecg which appears to be inconclusive. One doctor said it was ok, then another said it wasn't ok. They decided to email the ECG to a children's heart specialist to check over. (This, they say, could be separate to the temp and pointed towards a larger left side of the heart??) They weren't sure which is why they were sent to a specialist.

How long should I leave it before calling the GP to see if they have any reply? There's nothing on the NHS app other than her discharge notes so wondering if any results would get put on there or not.

There was also talk of a 24 HR heart trace... So may need to discuss this with GP too.

Her heart rate has been mostly normal since but has been up to 130 once or twice (at rest)

It's been 6 days.... How long does it usually take for a specialist to look at an email and reply/send report?

I would give it 7 days, so call tomorrow.

If it's any reassurance I once had labyrinthisitis and my resting heart rate was 160ppm and raising whenever I moved. It made me feel awful and I had a bunch of short ecgs and a 24h one a few weeks later. They never got to the bottom of it but as soon as the labyrinthitis resolved itself my heart rate returned to my normal but slightly elevated level of 90-100. The 24h monitor showed the odd ectopic beat but that was it. I've never had it since they put it down to the illness. I hope it's the same for your daughter. My 24h ECG was through the GP surgery, I had a slightly longer wait than I should have as it was in for repair but this was about 10 years ago now
