Struggling getting my 2 year old son to brush his teeth!

My son just simply doesn't want to brush his teeth. He won't let me near him with the toothbrush and when I do go near him he just cries hysterically. I've tried so many kids flavoured toothpastes, but to no avail. He hasn't visited the dentist yet either and I'm noticing decay on the milk teeth. What do I do?!!

I've yet to experience this myself but I think all kids that age are hesitant to brush their teeth. Have you watched any videos about how to calm him? There is actually a good documentary that discusses parents struggling with looking after their children's teeth - I'll link it here:

Elmo Brushy Brush, he'll love it. The only issue is then he may want to watch other things as well (so now I've stopped that). I think if ita so bad you can see decay then you just need to force it. You should also get advice from a professional, but even rinsing with water after meals and brushing with a wet flannel would be better than nothing
