Oral thrush and gel / antibiotics

Looking to see what others experienced with their baby's oral thrush please.
We used a gel called daktarin over the counter and baby's white bits cleared, inside the mouth. Really quickly the patches of white that were forming on the lips and inside cheeks just vanished.
I assume that he developed the thrush after the course of amoxycillin, and I understand antibiotics can upset the natural bacteria. It seems to have now come back, a day after I chucked the daktarin out (nearly finished anyway)

Just wondering what others have used to treat oral thrush, around the 13 month age range?
Is nyastin treatment (online says it is antibiotic) absolutely neccessary as I'm wondering whether it can mess his system up and come back again if he has a 2nd antibiotic in him within the space of a few months...
I ask because after talking to about a dozen pharmacies, the over the counter oral gel is now out of stock with a supply issue, don't know when or where we can get some.
I know I'll need to go to the Docs tomorrow if it does get worse, and just would like to be a bit in the know about all the treatmwnts people have used before with theirs, and what worked.
Can anyone advise me before I talk to GP (i think she thinks I'm an OTT new Mum, probably right)

Many thanks IA

Nystatin is an antifungal treatment not an antibiotic
