Head lice - can you wet comb too much

I maybe impatient but I found my youngest had head lice just into the school holidays. I've wet combed every other day and used Headrin twice. I'm still finding live ones and now they have transferred to my oldest and me. I'm mortified and a bit concerned that I have no one able to wet comb my hair properly.

Am I combing too much doing it every other day? I know advice is to do it on days 5, 9, 13 and 17.

Any advice welcome.

If you are still finding lice, you need to keep going.
Either you are missing some on the combing, or there are eggs that are hatching.

No, you can't comb too much.

Ok thank you. I'll be patient. It doesn't help that my DC have the thickest curliest hair. I'd hoped to have them clear before going back to school.

When my kids have lice I treat them with hedrin once and then comb daily and sometimes twice daily until no longer getting any, and then once a week for a few weeks. I think you're under-combing if anything (sorry!) I know it's hard with long thick hair.

Also for myself I did the hedrin once as well, and then wet combed my hair every morning in the shower with gobs of conditioner which made it easier.

I used to comb every day until the little bastards were all gone.

You’re not combing enough. You need to comb daily and doing your own shouldn’t be a problem. I have thick curly hair and just do it in the shower with loads of conditioner.

Thanks for your advice. Back on it after work and daily it is then 🤣
