My son started college in Sep, had a couple colds in the last few weeks but he's basically not stopped sniffing and sneezing for about 7 weeks now! It's really getting him down. Have been to the doctors, has been given nose sprays, said it could he allergic rhinitis. However he never had these problems beofre the cold he has at the beginning of term.
Is anyone else experiencing a cold that won't shift?

I think it’s quite common for colds to drag on for ages. Hopefully he’ll feel better soon.

Yes, my dd13, has been ill since October, just when I think its gone, its back again. I do wonder if the pandemic has just made these things harder to fight and we need to get our immune systems strong again 🤷‍♀️

I have had a snuffly cold for months, every so often it flares up in to a full blown cold but never goes away completely. I'm trying to eat lots of fruits and veg and drink orange juice and take vitamins but seems like it is here to stay.

Dd 11 has had a cold since November 23rd, she had a bit of sickness the week after, was alright for the 2 weeks inbetween but still with cold symptoms, Christmas Eve she was sick again, fine on Christmas Day, belly pain Boxing Day… she’s had thick green bogeys and she just been sick again now along with belly pain. I have no idea what’s happening, if it’s viral, or something else, if it hasn’t cleared by next week I’m gonna take her to the doctors. She’s been okay in herself just can’t shift the symptoms. Never had a temperature either.

Covid is knocking peoples immune systems to pieces. There was one winter three years ago where there were restrictions.

Alasitsme · 03/01/2024 20:33

What @TeaWithASplashOfMilk said. It's Covid/repeated Covid that's causing the problems with immune systems - as we were warned about - not staying at home for a few weeks several years ago!

Totally agree,
Lots I know aren't testing now but I feel so much for the vulnerable people.

Yet another one!! Really bad cough/cols. So unlike him. I do agree covid has something to do with it but he wasn't like it last winter post covid.
