Being referred for Lump on 10 month olds thigh

Hi, my 10 month old has had a lump on her upper/outer thigh for around 8 weeks now. It’s flat in the surface of her skin with a pinkish/brown bruise which tends to get bigger and darker at times but under it is a biggish lump about an inch or just under.
First GP said should be fine and to go back if it gets bigger or just doesn’t go.
I went back today and the dr is really concerned and referred her for an urgent scan.

I'm worried sick and just wondering if anyone knows what this could be? Or have had a similar experiences? The only threads I can find less to people saying it could be from jabs but it couldn’t be in my lg case as her last jabs were 5/6 months ago. The GP also did not give me any indication of what it could be.

any advice or personal experience would be great, tia x

My dd has this, exactly, at about 24 months.
however she had it in peak covid times and we didn’t get referred for a scan ☹️they just monitored it and because it wasn’t growing fast they said they weren’t worried. She’s now 6 and has an indentation above it like a dimple, and I can still feel it if I press down on that spot, it’s hard and still pea sized. Dr still won’t refer as it’s not grown.
