Length of viral infection

DD age 8 has been a bit poorly since Friday (now Wednesday). Started with headaches, lethargic and a high temp that was mainly mid to high 38s, once or twice reached 39. She perked up a bit but was up and down so we kept her off school Monday and Tuesday. Took to GP on Monday and was told chest, throat, ears all clear etc but signs of mucus in back of throat and a bit of protein in urine so possible UTI so started on antibiotics (last day of them today).

She has gone back to school today, her temp is 36.9 to 37.5 in the day now but has been going up to 37.9ish in the evening however she does like to snuggle up in bed watching her ipad! She has a cough that has started to come out more and last night was full of beans but still looks a bit pale.

I don't think it's a UTI, she has no signs of it and I read that fevers can cause traces of protein in the urine. I think she's got a viral infection, but is it normal for them to drag on this long and for temps to go up in the evening?

Headaches, lethargic & high temp were the symptoms the day before positive covid tests for us on Sunday.

I've tested her for covid and she's negative
