Honey for a cough child one in 2 weeks

Child has a really bad cough just wondering is honey any good for a 11month and 2 week old ?

Honey is more effective for a tickly cough than most cough mixtures, but if you're worried about it you can buy Tixylix from the chemist.

It's literally just the thick/stickiness of it that coats the throat and stops you being as bothered by the mucuous long enough to fall asleep.

There is no other tickly cough remedy apart from sedatives, which are no longer available for children under 6 for obvious reasons.

Surely whether honey comes from one hive/source or a thousand - it's still honey.

If my beef burger is made up of mince from one cow or 5 it's still a beef burger.

I'd prefer honey from one traceable source, but it doesn't make it any more or less 'real'.

If they are adding anything to it then that would be reflected in the ingredients list as that would be a legal requirement.
