just looking for a little advice and if anyones experienced anything similar, my 4 month old keeps getting Radom little petechia spots that will last for a couple of days then disappear, he has a tiny little bruise next to his eye that has a tiny little lump underneath it I have had him checked multiple times but just keep getting told it’s fine and nothing to worry about, can this be normal or should I be pushing for more tests?

Hi Op, has your LO ever had a blood test done to check his platelets? My DS has had petechial rashes for years (started after he got the Men B jab). He has been investigated time and time again via blood tests. I would ask if they can do one just to rule things out. My DS also has enlarged lymph nodes, so they always had to check to make sure it was nothing sinister. Hope you’re ok but I would ask for a blood test just for peace of mind x

Hi thank you for your reply yes he has had bloods done I assume his platelets where fine. His white blood cells where risen slightly but not enough for them to be concerned. It’s funny you say this and this started a day after his final menB vaccination! He also has swollen lymph nodes behind his ears and on the back of his neck that I’ve been told nothing to worry about.

Hey OP I just had to comment. My son is now 14 months old and since 5 months we have been struggling with the exact same thing. It’s so so frustrating. He’s had 3 sets of blood tests and we’ve been reassured by top Pediatric doctor where we live it’s nothing serious but I can’t help but worry still.

@LauraMay919 im experiencing similar with my 3 year old random spots appeared we are on day 2 they haven’t disappeared yet.. will continue to monitor before I request for blood tests..how are you getting on?

LauraMay919 · 05/08/2024 13:44

We’re going back to the pediatrics on 20th aug as he’s still getting them and he’s had multiple RSV infections in short space of time. How about you?

Did you get anywhere please? I’m in the rabbit hole right now 😔

Wow! My baby had a rash up his arm and hand after he had the first menB vaccination (the day after) and we ended up having to take him to a&e to be checked. They told us it would have had nothing to do with his vaccinations 🙄 but I was convinced. So this is really interesting!! Now I’m dreading the 1 year one 😩.

@Chels3256 how did everything turn out?
