Spironolactone (prescribed for acne) - any experiences with kids/teenagers?

A dermatologist has prescribed DD (13) spironolactone for her acne. I know it's actually a diuretic, but apparently has anti-androgen action, so can help with DD's type of acne. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of this drug in children/teens? It's not that often prescribed for acne (though apparently more so in America), but children sometimes have it for heart or kidney issues. Does anyone have any experience? Many thanks in advance.

My sister and my best friend have taken it for years. Works really well and no issues. I think they have blood tests regularly as it can affect kidneys.

Thanks @villagelife1992 . Were they already adults when they started?
