Is this blood in my baby’s poo? WARNING GROSS PIC

Sorry for the disgusting pic. My baby has CMPA, we’ve just started weaning (6 months) but obviously not given her anything with dairy. This was her nappy last night. She’s not had anything red!? I think it might be blood.
What could cause that? Another allergy? She’s had, bread, banana, baby porridge, cucumber, broccoli, carrot, apple purée, hummus, and some dairy free yogurt!

This looks like my DS’s nappy when he had campylobacter. He was older than your little one though - about 20 months at the time. It was blood and did look like this. He was fine in himself but this was the sign of an infection. It was easily treated with a quick 3 day course of antibiotics. I would see the GP and keep photos/log of how many nappies look like this but even at 20 months they were keen to see them as a priority just to check things out. I remember the nurse saying that generally one episode of something like this may just be random/nothing to worry about, but more than once they want to investigate to be on the safe side.

@Moon12345 omg! I really hope not! We are vegetarian I wonder if it’s still possible… I’ll definitely give the gp a call if it happens again

Hi OP, sorry only just seen your reply! Yes still possible - we are vegan so he definitely didn’t get from uncooked meat - you can catch from contaminated water and our theory was the whistle he blew after he dropped it in very muddy water on a walk about 3ish days earlier.. 🙈 Really hope your little one is much better by now though x
