Hi everyone. My 9 month old boy woke up with his hands and feet like this. He was in a long sleeved vest, a fleeced baby grow, sleeping bag and the room was 17degrees.
His hands always feel cooler than the rest of his body but they have never gone like this. Does this need to be shown to gP

It could be Reynauds but I would want that checked by a gp.

I agree that it looks like Reynaud's and would get it checked by GP. It can be associated with other conditions.

Thankyou. When I was younger one finger used to do this. I’ve never noticed it in him until this morning and was shocked how much of his hands and feet were white. I will contact a gp

Did he go back to normal quickly once awake?
Is he going like this when you take him outside?

dementedpixie · 10/11/2023 20:08

What tog sleeping bag?

Eagtess3 · 10/11/2023 20:08

@mynumber it took a few minutes but it went back to normal. We haven’t noticed it when he’s been outside x

It does look like raynauds, it would be a good idea to see the gp.
17 degrees is quite cold for a babies room though, I'd increase the temperature to at least 19/20 degrees as he's clearly too cold even with what should be sufficient clothing.

RudsyFarmer · 10/11/2023 20:23

I wouldn’t be happy with that at all. I agree the room needs to be warmer.

AthenaPopodopolous · 10/11/2023 20:28

This baby needs is too cold. Make sure he has a vest, sleep suit with mittens and a higher tog sleep bag or an extra blanket . And maybe a wee hat in if the room is cold. Poor little mite. Are you struggling to heat the home?
