How is covid presenting in children at the moment?

No haters thanks! My youngest had 4-5 days of a high temp last week, no normal viral symptoms eg runny nose. GP thought it was a uti, but after growing it in the lab, it wasn’t.

Now my daughter has a high fever, similarly no other symptoms, no cough, nothing.

My elderly mum is due over tomorrow and she hasn’t had her vaccine top up yet.

wondering how covid is presenting in children at the moment and whether I should test my daughter.

thanks

I've heard the current strain of covid isn't being picked up by the test so testing may not be conclusive. If she's not got any other symptoms other than a temperature it sounds like a fever, not covid.
