Strep A / tongue/ infection or vial?

Feel like I’m at a dead end with doctors. They don’t seem concerned but this does not look normal? She is 3 and complaining of sore throat and her tongue has been like this for 2 months but sore throat started on Friday. Doctors trying to say her tongue is borderline normal and should go but they have given us thrush treatment again although she has had that 3 times! They say her throat is viral… anyone had this issue? Did it go on its own or does it need some treatment? She had a tongue swab a week ago which came back normal so I’m confused.com

That looks like a totally normal tongue to me! Spots
at back are just taste buds. throat itself doesn’t look at all red.
I’m a veteran of strep A and tonsillitis. Sounds like she just has a virus.

I took her doctors yesterday as it is abit red in the back il try show a better photo they agreed it looked red and to administer nurofen for few days….

if it’s any help this was my DD on day she tested + for strep- you can see the red throat and red tongue. She also had a fever of 40. It’s pretty unmistakable when it’s strep. I hope your little
one feels better soon xx

Were the bumps on her tongue raised? My daughter went through scarlet fever without a “high temperature” but all other symptoms. She doesn’t seem to always get temperatures so even more frightening sometimes! I just can’t understand why her tongue has been like this for 2 months. It’s been ever since she had scarlet fever and was treated for it when it finished she was diagnosed with thrush and now the texture of her tongue stays this way?

same here with the tongue-
months on and her tongue still looks white to me but no dr is interested as
the strep has cleared! Maybe a lasting effect
of scarlet
fever?

Tongue looks normal to me, possibly thrushy - any patches elsewhere in the mouth? Ds had strep a then tonsillitis 7 times at the start of this year (strawberry tongue pic). The throat was so sore he stopped taking fluids and had to be hospitalised a couple of times. Very specific red spots at the back top of his throat too.

Hi, she has a sore throat and it’s a little red doctor said possibly viral. She is currently on thrush treatment again as she had it for 3 weeks 2 weeks ago and her tongue stayed like this. Doctor done a swap a week ago which she said was normal but doctor yesterday said swabs don’t pick up thrush so frustrating when you get told different things and get no where :(

I’m a dentist so look at tongues all day every day and this looks entirely normal to me.

I had this debate with my GP recently! My daughter had a really nasty virus - adenovirus - very high temps. Her tongue went kind of thrushy looking like this, but it wasn't thrush. GP said normal with virus. He was right, went back to normal all on its own.
