Child complaining of lung pain

Dolly567 · 06/09/2023 21:28

So twice this past week my son has stopped mid conversation and said 'my lung hurts' the one on the left. Doesn't seem in pain when he says it, just like a surprised tone.
No history of asthma etc
Looked online and it says growing pains or reflux but I'm really not sure.

Any advice? Should I speak to GP?

Is he pointing accurately to where his lung is when he says it? I only ask as my 10 year old would Struggle to point to where he’d actually feel pain in his lung. just wondering if it’s really there in which case yes probably a gp listening to his back wouldn’t go amiss.

Yes, so he points to his lung and says mummy my lung hurts (sounds shocked) when he says this. Thank you I will give them a call. It's only been recently I just have no idea what it could be, not that I am medically trained of anything it's just quite an unusual complaint x

How did you get on @Dolly567? My DS complained of lung pain a few times but he had asthma when he was little so I put it down to that. He only had it a few times and it disappeared on its own.
