It’s only on one arm so not sure, and doesn’t look blistery or seem itchy yet.

ps no other symptoms except for felt a bit hot yesterday but only briefly, and had very very slight cough in night. Seems well, playing and eating normally. Thank you!

Chicken pox you normally get a queen spot somewhere on the torso or head I believe. They look more like bites?

Inyournewdress · 12/08/2023 19:14

Thank you, I haven’t noticed one…I did wonder about bites.

I guess will have to monitor overnight! Thank you for replying x

I was always told to shine a torch on them from the side - CP spots are clear blisters.

Inyournewdress · 12/08/2023 20:16

Oh thanks @KnackeredBack we’ll try that

It would be very unusual for chicken pox to start on the arm, definitely bites I think!

Inyournewdress · 12/08/2023 23:20

Thank you @Janeandthemachine
I have just got one mosquito bite on my arm so maybe it is, it was hot last night so she had a sleeveless top on to sleep. Strange to see so many bites though, and she hasn’t reacted much to them, they’re not swollen or itchy. But mozzy bites probably most harmless explanation so i hope so!

Shining the torch was a bit inconclusive at the moment. But this morning they are much bigger

If anyone knows…Am I able to go to appointments etc as normal if I have had it? Just want to be sure don’t pass it on, if that’s what it is.

They wouldn't be so big if they were chicken pox, they'd be multiplying but not getting bigger. That looks like a typical reaction to an insect bite imo

Inyournewdress · 13/08/2023 14:29

Thanks so much for advising @Janeandthemachine
They are getting bigger still, but not multiplying
I think bites if I had to guess.
Because redness spreading I rang 111 and someone is meant to be calling be back, but I expect they’ll say the same.

Hi, did you ever find out what this was? My daughter has exactly the same.

Inyournewdress · 07/09/2023 19:51

Hi @Bluewedgeshoes sorry I have only just seen you reply, hope your dd is ok. Yes it turned out to be bites I think, certainly wasn’t chicken pox in the end.

Bluewedgeshoes · 07/09/2023 22:02

Thank you, think ours were bites too!

Inyournewdress · 08/09/2023 07:58

Oh good!
