I’m currently on the phone to 111 as I have health anxiety and I am quite worried about her

she’s had a recent chest infection. Finished antibiotics on Tuesday. Her cough hasn’t improved but she seemed well within herself. Until today. Woke up crying and really hasn’t settled. Calpol seems to help. She’s constantly wanting held and cuddled and I’m happy to do that, but feel I need her to be seen. I’m not over exaggerating am I?

her cry I can only describe it like a pressure cry. Like something is paining her and she’s breathing and crying through it. Again, calpol helped. When that wears off we are back to stage 1. She’s ate and drank fine. Dirty and wet nappies. Doesn’t seem to be her teeth. Not been at her ears either. She’s had 2 previous ear infections with burst ear drums. They usually leak but they are fine today.

any advice ?

You're doing the right thing stay on the line

So the dr didn’t see any cause for concern. To monitor.
she’s woke up again and has been screaming In pain. Calpol given. She’s had a couple of burps and passing wind. Seems to be sore tummy in some way but I don’t know what with. She had a couple of burps which made her cry then she fell asleep. Reflux? I don’t know ???

Sore tummy could be because of the recent antibiotics maybe? Hope she feels better soon x

They finished last Tuesday. She was fine (apart from cough) until basically when she woke yesterday. I’m on call to nhs again. She’s been awake literally 4 hours after calpol crying and unsettled. Letting out wee burns and pumps again. Poor thing. What’s going on

Sounds like a stomach bug or something like that. Just keep trying to get her seen. Can you get to the hospital?

We’ve been here for hours now. Ruled out a uti. Feel like nobody is actually that concerned. When we got here we noticed both her feet and hands were bright red. Being taken up to the childrens ward soon but the dr said only because they want to have her wait a bit longer.

How is she now @Letsbekindplease

Hope you got some answers- so tricky when they are unwell.

fairymary87 · 23/07/2023 22:46

Hi sorry. I know it’s been a while since I posted. I haven’t been on here but didn’t want to not reply.

so we were in a and e then moved to a childrens ward. Whilst in there noticed swelling of feet and hands. They said it was a post strep cause. I don’t think they knew what it was. They did bloods and all fine and urine fine. She’s not had anything since. Had to go back in a few days later and they signed her off.

her tummy can sometimes bother her and we were given lactulose.
Xx
