My 2 month old has had a patch of nappy rash for 3 or 4 days now I’ve sudocrem didn’t do anything I’ve gone up a size in nappy still didn’t do anything and I also change her as soon as she wets her nappy I was using scented wipes for a few days they have similar packaging to the sensitive ones I normally use I didn’t realise I was using scented wipes until yesterday I went and got sensitive ones yesterday so not sure if it’s the wipes but I expected to see improvement today after switching the wipes but it still looks the same

Sitting in a detol bath always worked for mine and you could see the sting had gone out of it straight after, then cream as usual

Metonium nappy ointment. Magic stuff

Fresh air always helped DS. So change and clean bum, then a whole bunch of time lying on a mat somewhere, preferably outside with some fresh sunshine. Especially when it's hot and muggy.

I know talcum powder is not routinely used any more but when his was very bad, we definitely found talcum powder helped to keep the area dry and clean.

Second @Whentwobecomesthree
The yellow tube one!

Wibblewobbletooth · 17/07/2023 15:10

It could be fungal nappy rash. This won't respond to normal nappy rash creams, you need an antifungal cream. I'd take a picture (be careful not to capture her genitals or bum) and show it to a pharmacist to see what they say.

Definitely the yellow stuff. Apply plenty at night. By morning rash is gone.

Also allow time with with no nappy on to let fresh air help.

Metanium. If that doesn't work, see your GP. We used to get Timodine back in the day - maybe it's something else now? I used to apply the Timodine and put Metanium on top and that seemed to work well. You couldn't use Timodine more than a couple of times a day, if memory serves me!

Another one for metanium, it's magic!

Milkand2sugarsplease · 17/07/2023 17:31

DS's consultant taught me....

Metanium (yellow) to get rid of rash.
Bepanthan to keep it at bay (if baby is prone to it) and Sudocrem never!!

Worked with that for 2 children and it's seen them both right.
