Blisters covering child's toes - warning photo in OP

I was wondering if anyone else's child has experienced extreme blistering on toes (not caused by friction).
DD is 8 and last week complained of itchy feet. She went to school but when she came home she had broken out in tiny bubble-like blisters all over her toes on her right foot. Chemist had a look and gave us itch cream and anti histamine syrup. But in the last 24 hours it has got worse. Toes are covered in sores and very swollen. She's okay within herself. I will try to get her a GP appointment in the morning, but wondered if anyone had every experienced anything like this.

Looks like eczema to me. That’s what my daughters feet look like and she has really bad eczema. Can flare up really badly in this hot weather.

I know this is no help at all op but I had those same blisters when I was a kid, they would pop up just before I got athlete's foot but my foot hygiene was awful and I had to rewear socks for a week with old shoes that didn't fit so I'm assuming that's not the issue here. It could be fungal as a PP suggested? I would probably put sandals on your DD so her socks can't stick to her as that hurts worse.

I wondered about this. She had cold-like symptoms a couple of weeks ago but tested negative.

No blisters on hands or in mouth. And she changes socks and washes feet daily, and she is in sandals. I have medicated talc, but not sure if it will help.
Pharmacist did think eczema last week, but it has got so much worse since then.

Thank you everyone, I just wondered if I was missing something obvious.

My son had the same but then on his hands. Lots of blisters and skin peeling of. Seemed to be an allergic reaction to the washing powder I was using, changed that and it has never returned. When he was suffering from it, I put pure coconut oil on it, helped the irritated skin to calm down.

It could be hand, foot & mouth, has she got a rash on her bum? When I caught it off ds I had blisters on my feet & my bum was covered in the worst itchy rash you could ever imagine. I was prescribed steroids, antihistamines & eurax cream.

Poor child! I had something like this, it was so unbearably itchy, I blamed it on an allergic reaction to the flat shoes I got from Urban Outfitters a brand I’d never had before but liked the style. I put Vaseline on my feet which cured it, and I’ve never had it since.

Looks like the Pompholyx I get on my fingers. It’s insanely itchy and incredibly painful once the blisters pop. Anti fungal cream clears it up very quickly. Avoid scratching at all costs as it’s so painful!

This is what I was thinking.

I differ really badly on my hands but if it's got onto my feet it goes like this and then all wet and blistered and lots really infected.

Try soaking her foot in warm water with Dead Sea salts in.

That's pompholyx eczema. It's insanely itchy when the blisters burst so best not to scratch or pop them. See the GP for topical steroids; I find ointment better than cream as it stays in place longer. Also don't be concerned about using a stronger steroid, every dermatologist I've seen says it's better to use a stronger steroid and knock it on the head than a weaker one for longer.

Thank you everyone. It does seem like pompholyx eczema. I'm currently in the 8.30 scrum to get a GP appointment.

I get similar on my toes when it’s hot. I get rid of it with athletes foot creams and powders. No idea what it is. It goes away with this treatment so just assumed it was something fungal.

I have not looked at your pic but one of my kids gets blisters for atheletes foot. The others get a different version without the blisters.

try some anti fungal cream / spray
