Hello
is it normal for a 13 months baby to poop every 2 days? I am so worried he ends up like his brother with long term complications induced by chronic constipation. please tell me about your 1 year old poop pattern. Do they poop every 2nd day ! Is that normal

It's really variable with little ones. As long as they aren't going really long intervals or getting stressed out / withholding / finding them huge or hard it's probably better left alone. Certainly well within normal range, many children with no issues have only 1 stool each 1-3 days.

I think if you have a feeling they may have some issues they you may be right.
My first child has issues with constipation and witholding so we give medication daily and it's been such a horrible rollercoaster of hell that I am really sensitive to knowing about the you gests pooping habits. I think you will be too.
When our 18m old hasn't pooped I notice it straight away and give him a wee bit of lactulose and encourage more drinking fluids
I know the you gest does generally go every day and if he doesn't his tummy starts getting bigger.

In fact just this week I started thinking little on hadn't pooped on a couple of days so when he picked up his older brothers cup with laxido in it I let him drink it. And sure enough he did a huge poo today.

Sorry, to sum up if day it can be normal to go every day, every few days or even once a week but if you know your baby used to poo daily and something changed then I'd be considering fluid intake increase, fibre increase or even laxative to avoid getting to constipation stage.
