Lump on my 3 month baby’s head

Hey everyone so I’m going the doctors tomorrow but I just want to know if anyone has experienced this with their babies before? or any ideas what it could be? because it’s really worrying me at the moment but my baby has had this lump on his head for about a week and it feels like fluid, I have no idea what it could be, besides that my baby seems fine by all means, I just can’t help but worry until we go see the doctor, I should also mention when I had him they had to use the vacuum suction thing on his head.

Definitely get him to the GP today or nip to A&E. Is he alert and behaving as normal?

Hugasauras · 02/05/2023 09:51

That looks like a bulging fontanelle. I would ask to be seen by your doctor immediately or go to A&E personally.

Don’t panic, I’m not remotely medical but I’d be very cautious in case of encephalitis.

Is it above his fontanelle?

Hugasauras · 02/05/2023 09:51

He's had it around a week? Did you seek medical attention when it first appeared?

Worryant · 02/05/2023 09:53

Straight to A&E, I’d want to get him checked. Don’t want to worry you but I would really get him seen by someone soon. Not medical myself but bulging fontanelle can be something serious. Hopefully it’s nothing but best to get him checked out asap.

I'd definitely seek a medical opinion, probably start with GP. I've no medical knowledge but I do think it should be checked out.

Mamoun · 02/05/2023 10:11

I would go to A&E now.
Good luck, could be nothing but could be something.
