Hives appear every time I undress my LO

Hi all,

Just looking for a little advice really. My DD is 9 months old. Yesterday she went off to nursery fine but after her being there for 15 minutes I got a call to say hives were appearing all over her body, especially her legs. It's worth noting that she was in a dress with bare legs and just socks due to the weather.

I picked her up and took her to the pharmacist as I wanted to double check she was okay. He advises that it was probably just because her legs got cold. She's fine in herself, no temperature and her happy, bossy little self.

I've noticed now every time we undress her these hives reappear and once she's dressed again they do vanish. I've tested this theory again this morning, undressed her to change her and left her in a vest. The started to appear almost immediately, I left her for 10 minutes to see if they develop further and it seems she's adapted to the temperature and they've disappeared again.

I'm really at a loss. I can only assume it's her bodies initial reaction to the cold air on her skin and when her body regulates to the temperature they vanish!

Has anyone had any similar experiences or any advice? I'll be monitoring her this weekend to see how she gets on.

Might be worth calling Allergy UK or National Eczema Society (doesn't sound like eczema but they have a great helpline and could signpost you to help)
