7 yo still it eating and drinking after short tummy bug - stomach ache and sleeping every afternoon

As title - short lived vomiting over the weekend but still barely eating and drinking. The last couple of days he's been ok in the mornings and will snack but by early afternoon he's crying with tummy pain and then falling asleep shortly afterwards which is SO unlike him. I've kept him off school all week but this seems ridiculous now given that he's not vomited since Sunday! Is this normal??

Some tummy bugs have stomach cramps that hang around a good few
days/ weeks after the active stuff has stopped. Sounds like he’s just healing from it. If no more
d&v I wouldn’t be concerned xx

Sorry just reread that he’s not eating and drinking much. Prob worth a stool sample
to rule out a couple of tummy bugs that need antibiotics to clear them up. Unlikely as you’d expect a fever with them but worth dropping one into Gp next week if not better. For now I’d stick clear of dairy and just eat things like toast and banan and crackers and rest lots x

@wobblymum1 thank you! It feels crazy that he's missed a week of school when he hasn't even vomited since the weekend... Hopefully he'll be back to normal by Monday but if not I'll try and get a sample x
