2 year old spending lots of time looking out window

Hi,

My 2 year old always tend to spend time looking out the window, looking at people, waving at passing cars etc..

My concern is that he's got a full room of toys, but would rather stand at the window. Anyone else has had such experience? Is it a passing phase?

What's your concern? It's good for them to be aware and interested in the outside world, I'd be more concerned if he was more obsessed with toys and not interested in the real world.

FWIW my 2 year old loves outside, always has done. We often spend time at the window, and I use it as a distraction/calming technique when I smell a tantrum coming on.
