When to expect a sibling to catch chickenpox

Hi all my daughter had chicken pox 12 days ago. My son hasn’t had it yet.
when can I expect him to catch it? Has anyone had siblings not catch it

we go away on Monday 🙈 no signs of it yet but he has just woke up which is unlike him, usually sleeps through

10-21 day incubation period. It was 15 days between my dd and ds

My three managed to spread it out so we had to stay away from people for I think 8 weeks.they then all got the swine flu (remember that one?!) And a result I was on my own with 3 kids for 12 weeks 😜

2 weeks to the day, which is frustrating when you have just got on holiday then can’t take your child out of the room (ask me how I know!)

I think we were literally day 14. My poor six month old got it really bad too as I didn’t realise the higher the exposure the worse they got it :(

Yeh it took a while for my second to catch it. The annoying thing is that she has mildish allergies, and managed to develop some hives that kind of looked like chicken pox while her sibling had it, so she had 3 days off school before we realised it was allergies. She was back in school for one day before she came out in chicken pox spots and was off for another week 🙄

My three year old caught it last summer, on our first day of holiday.
My 9 year old never caught it and hadn't had it before x

Usually somewhere between 14-16 days, with a potential range of 10-21 days. Hope you avoid it!

I think my sister got it about 2 weeks after me.

I had it much much more severely than her though

Yes too late for a vaccine, it needs to be within the 3-5 days of exposure. You could consider it if he doesn't catch it though, to avoid similar situations in future.

Bang on 2 weeks between my two. The second had it worse but isn't such a winge bag about meds so it was actually easier to manage.
