Hey all

so we were on holiday and at a swing park ,
my lg was on the roundabouts going pretty fast for a 3 year old then straight on to the swings ,
while on the swing she wanted to stop the. Her expression went a bit blank and didn't respsond to her name .
it lasted literally about 3/4 seconds but I panicked .

She's never done this before or since , wondering if it was too much movement or what should I get her checked ?
my oh said it could just be the change in movement etc because it's never happend

any advice ?

Get her checked

My DS (aged 8) has had a couple of absence seizures - one time, he was sat at school with his hand up and was staring straight at the teacher but he had completely zoned out. he only "came to" when another child prodded him in the ribs. We saw a paediatrician and he had an EEG and that was fine. I have had a few myself when I was younger, as did my dad. I would go to the GP if it happens again and just ask them to do a neuro check.

will keep an eye have noted it in my Callander to make sure if it ever does happen again it's there

It is very tricky with any episode that hasn't happened more than once yet (and might never again). Keep a diary and take a video if you do end up seeing recurrent episodes.

@Jenny2020 does your DD have any headaches / other neuro concerns such as a limp / slurred speech / falling over a lot? My DS did have headaches so when he had this silent seizure the consultant was more concerned but all was OK. I would def keep a close eye on her and go to the GP for a check if it does happen again. My DS hasn't had another one since July 2021 (finger's crossed!) but it is such a worry x

Hey nope nothing like that at all so strange I'm hoping it was just a pure overload of being dizzy then into a swing I did tell her dad to stop and let her settle but fn men don't listen
