Whooping cough if vaxxed - what is it like?

My 5yo has had all her routine jabs.
She's developed a cough and is making a weird noise in between coughs. It's not croup as it's not the cough itself but a loud sound when she draws breath.
I've listened to whooping cough online and it doesn't sound like that - that's v high pitched and hers is more deep.
She's fine in herself, no fever no wheezing no struggling (she often gets viral wheeze but she's fine this time).
Is this likely to be mild whooping cough or something else?

Vaccinated ds had whooping cough. Doctors were not good at diagnosing as they'd not heard it ever / often.

He was coughing until he was sick constantly and extremely breathless. He wasn't unwell as such eg no fever, still had appetite etc but the coughing was a really hard cough that was spasmodic and would end in him vomiting up gluey clear mucus. Projectile style.

Thanks. That's not quite what's going on here (yet). It's only a couple of coughs before each breath in and there's no phlegm. Will see how she is when upright today.
Thanks

If you YouTube stridor, does it sound like that?

My kids and I had it (all vaxxed). When we went to GP, they had to go and get another GPto check before they diagnosed it, very rare. Like PP said it’s the persistent cough until you feel like you can’t breathe and then vomiting up clear mucus that’s the give away sign for whooping cough.

Hope your DD is better soon.

Could it be croup? (Lots of videos on YouTube)

DS and DH both had whooping cough years ago and both were vaxxed. I was forever having to clean the carpets and DH coughed so hard he couldn’t stand up.

My dd had bacterial laryngitis which the dr said was a type of croup when she was 6. She was making a high pitched sound because her airways were narrow and she couldn’t get all her air in. She was pulling in at her ribs and neck. She had to be admitted for steroids and nebuliser.

Hi all, it's not croup it's just a bad cough with some mild stridor inbetween. Now she's up and had breakfast the stridor has disappeared altogether. No breathlessness at all, and no wheezing. She's pretty happy and well apart form the cough at night.
But having read this thread and looked at YouTube I'm reassured it's not whooping cough. Thank you all!

It could be laryngitis @Briallen - good point. She voice is a bit raspy too. Luckily no sucking or shortness of breath. She's prone to viral wheeze but is on 400 a day of the brown preventer inhaler and seems much more well with this cold than she's ever been before (we often need steroids in hospital) apart from the stridor. Fingers crossed last night was the worst of it
