Child’s white spots on tonsils won’t clear after antibiotics

Okay so a a bit of a strange one but took my child to the doctors last week due to conjunctivitis and the doctor pointed out that her tonsils had white spots and was swollen so he prescribed 5 days of antibiotics. Now bear in mind she’s has never complained of any pain or had a temperature with her throat at all (she is 3 nearly 4 so she could tell me ) so I don’t no how long her tonsils were like it ? So now where on the last day of antibiotics and white spots have not cleared on tonsils and she’s also woke up with a runny nose ! I feel like no matter what I do she won’t get better

Sounds like it’s just a viral infection so the antibiotics won’t have done anything. Gp’s have been instructed to prescribe more rapidly due to recent Strep a crisis and white spots can be one sign of it but you’d also expect high temp and throat and tummy pain too and a rash. As you say you would have know idea she was very unwell and wasn’t and runny nose definitely suggests viral so I wouldn’t worry at all. 🌻

I’m going out my mind with worry for her as it just seems like one thing after the other it looks like the antibiotics had never touched it also the conjunctivitis antibiotics don’t seem to be doing much hopefully it is just a virus because I really don’t want her to have anymore antibiotics
