Hi there ,

Looking for anyone who knows or can help me. Trying to book a dental appointment but have been told they will get back to me with a date and time.

My 17 month old has two white spots on buttom middle teeth. Not near the gums but more the middle of the teeth.

He's okay at brushing and has a good diet. He only drinks water and milk.

Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Take him to dentist they'll let you know

Nothing you can do anyway, so just wait for dentist.

I might have just been some kind of trauma or illness a long time ago or something like that

My daughter has these spots on her front teeth. It's likely enamel hypoplasia. Totally normal. Usually caused by illness or antibiotics in pregnancy. Just take care of them (as they're slightly more vulnerable) but there's nothing wrong with theme

Quick Google shows that it's possibly too much fluoride, enamel hypoplasia or early decay

Sounds like the too much fluoride from your description. But the link has photos so you can look and see.

@TigerMog this has given my some sense of relief it's not cavities. However all the articles I read online seemed to be by the gumline for cavities.

These two white spots are only very small like the size of a >>> . But really really white and noticeable.

I'll eat my hat if it's cavities

Thanks @TigerMog 😊

@00100001 it doesn't look like any of those photos honestly. They're just two white spots in the middle of the tooth , like bright white and the size of a pin point. It's noticeable because of how white the two spots are.

Have they been there for a while? My daughter had them when she was poorly then they went again

MyUsernameIsAlwaysTaken · 20/02/2023 07:45

@MrNook just noticed 3 days ago. He always tried closing his mouth or he will bite dowb, when I brush his teeth. So I decided it was time for a deep clean and had to really clean them with being gentle as possible , that's when I noticed it.
