Hi. My DD has a spot on her cheek. it started off a small pimple but has now got quite large, for a while it looked like a bruise. it's been there for over 2 weeks now and she says it hurts. Should it be something to be concerned about, or is it just a spot 🤷‍♀️

Personally I'd be taking her back to the GP for them to look at. Its been there a long time, poor girl!

I wonder if it’s a cyst that will potentially recur as it has a sac left behind. I’d see the GP again at this point.

i know what you mean. this is how it looked when it first came up but without the redness around it.

@EweCee do you think she needs more antibiotics?

My son has this. A little spot that suddenly turned enormous and red. The GP sent us to A&E for further investigation, who gave antibiotics and referred him to the maxillofacial surgery department. The antibiotics settled the acute redness down, and it turned into a red/purple patch with some hardness in the middle under the surface. The surgeon said it is a pilomatrixoma, and although it's benign, it isn't going to go away by itself, so my son is going to have surgery to remove it.
