Hello

I'm a new mum and would appreciate some advice. (FYI I have asked the doctor incase anyone says but it's a long wait for an answer....)

My 2 week old would regularly do small poos during the day. The last 2 days she doesn't seem to have any bowel movements at night (just wee) and mid afternoon will have one massive poo explosion! Is this normal? Apologies for the pic. Also she is breastfed during the day and formula fed at night.

Thank you

That all sounds and looks perfectly normal

Looks like normal breastfed motion to me.

Relax and enjoy your newborn

Bf babies can go ages, I think docs say up to a week between poos is not that abnormal

Formula has more bulk to in it so they poo more often and voluminiously!

Perfectly normal in my experience. Huge variety in frequency and quantity is usual. If no poo for several days (more than 4 or 5 if they are usually at least daily) and they seem in discomfort I'd seek help, but not for a once a day explosion.

When something changes with a little one it can be so concerning when you just don't know what's normal, but in this instance I really wouldn't worry. :)

Thank you so much!
