DS had Strep A, but cough and sore throat lingering

Hi all,

DS aged 3 had Strep A. Two week course of meds ended on Friday 20th Jan, he also had a follow up with GP and a swab taken - no more Strep A - yay! But, DS keeps saying he has a sore throat and I hear him having coughing fits in the night. Sometimes he wakes up crying.

Is it usual to have lingering symptoms, or is a return visit to GP in order in case this is something else?

My dd8 is just finished her 10 day Meds for strep and she has started to say her throat is at her again 😪
I'm going to bring her back to the gp to see what they think
I started a thread yesterday and got some great responses if you want to have a look
