Hives after viral infection 5 year old DS

My ds 5 started with a mild cough on Friday by Sunday early morning full blown fever 40C chills stuffy blocked nose bad cough. Gp saw him on Monday morning said it's viral just regular nurofen, calpol & lots of fluids.

By mon evening no fever just stuffy nose and cough but got hives on left side of his neck which cleared by morning. But then again got hives same place on Tuesday night. This time I gave him piriton and it cleared within an hour. Have attached a pic.

Does anyone know or experienced hives after a viral fever/cold cough.

Any help advise will be very helpful

Going through exactly the same with my 18month old. She had a temp from Thursday which lasted until Monday. On Monday came up with hives all over her body, as you I gave Piriton in the early afternoon which cleared the hives, but they came back in the evening when the medecine worn off. I took her to the gp who said viral rash.

The rash has spread to her whole body.

Hi Mathis, hope your little one's getting better. My son still has the cough just seems impossible to shrug it off.

I feel these viral infections are affecting differently post covid.

My DD is 11 now but she always used to get hives with a viral infection (she's grown out of it now)

Hi were you as well giving her Priton ? My son's never had hives before in any viral infections this is the 1st time also his hives were getting really itchy.

Thank you. The hives are now almost all gone, I have been giving piriton. It was such a horrible rash.
