Found child with scented oil bottle in her mouth

Feeling terrible about this. Tonight about 6pm I found my DD (2) with a scented oil bottle, the kind of oil you use in an electronic diffuser, in her mouth. The problem is somehow she’d ripped through the rubber top and some oil had clearly come out, her hands smelled like the oil. No idea how she did that, I tried to do the same on another bottle but couldn’t.

She didn’t cough, wasn’t sick, didn’t show any signs she’s actually swallowed some. I wiped her mouth anyway and she drank loads of water and milk and was fine then went to bed normally.

I don’t actually know if she swallowed any and she was absolutely fine for an hour afterwards. I checked the bottle and it was still mostly full.

I googled and am now panicked thinking should she have been seen?

Hi, I would phone 111 and ask their advice. They can check if what was in the diffuser is harmful. Hope you're ok OP x

I’m a medical professional. Please call 111 and have as much info about the oil product as possible eg name, brand, even better the packaging with ingredients. They have access to TOXBASE poisons database and from that can tell you if further action needed. Hope she’s ok.
