Friction burn on nose - how to dress advice

I’ve included a photo for reference but my 20 month old was playing in the tv room while I made a coffee and when I came back he had this mark on his nose.

It looks painful but he doesn’t react to when it is wiped or when I put sudocrem on it. I’m pretty sure it’s some form of carpet burn as I can’t for the life of me think what else it could be.

Basically is sudocrem the right thing to put on it?

He didn’t cry or get upset at any point hence I didn’t notice it happening.
