5 month old with dark green poop?

My almost 6 month old started having a bit of cow and gate banana porridge on Christmas Day. She only had about half a spoon.

for the past week, she’s been having more banana porridge. She has about 9-10 ounces of formula per feed, and she had about 10 scoops of banana porridge.

It says nothing about limitations on how much to give your baby on the side of the pack, so I just assumed you can give as much as the baby wants..

but now I’m worried because her poo is dark green, i looked it up and it’s either a sign of too much iron or it can happen when they first start solids apparently?
it says online that too much iron can cause severe issues … I’m too worried to give her anymore just in case so I’m not giving her any more of the banana porridge and I shan’t give her anymore purées until a week or two when she turns 6 months - it’s kinda scared me.

Try googling what banana does to a baby's nappies!

If she is otherwise well, try something without banana. Green poo with black bits is common after they first eat banana.

@ShowOfHands it wasn’t an actual banana that I puréed for her. It’s was like formula powder, but with banana flakes in it which you add to water

is that the same thing?
