Hello,

I've noticed for the last few weeks that My 18 month old daughter big toe nails changed got thicker (corners) and yellowish and now one of the big toe nail is coming off Shock we have appointment with gp coming. But I've been reading some posts saying that this can happen after hand mouth and foot disease? She got it the virus in October! Does anyone experienced this? I'm worried. It Can also be a fungal infection? but I wonder how she would get it. Thank you 🙏

This happened to my child too after HFM all the toe nails came off 😭 but it didn't bother them and grew back ok

Happened here, a good couple of months after DS had been ill. He had more spots on hands than his feet, and sure enough all his fingernails came off but only a couple of toe nails. No ongoing problems afterwards.

Mine we boy's too, at about the same age. Horrible to see but didn't bother him and the slightest and everything looked completely normal quite quickly afterwards.

Yes happened one of mine, about same time line. All 20 nails fell off but nice new nails grew underneath. It's a weird virus.
Although another one that had a really bad case didn't lose any toe or finger nails.

Just wanted to add that shedding/peeling skin can happy as well as loosing nails. My sons skin peeled off from his hands and feet several months after the virus. I too had no idea HFM could cause that!
