Just that really. Tried phoning the GP 30 minutes before they closed (when I noticed it) but the bastards didn’t pick up as usual and now saying closed. I would try the pharmacy but I suspect they won’t prescribe anything to a 3 year old.

I'd just call In .the morning. You could try a pharmacy see what they say.

Are they well in themselves otherwise? Drinking fluids, passing urine? Any raging temperatures that can’t be broken with paracetamol?

As long as the above is ok then you don’t need medical intervention just for impetigo at this stage. That goes for every illness, the media sure know how to scare people into thinking everything is sepsis & then are confused when GPs & A&E departments are overrun. Speak to the pharmacist in the morning, they may prescribe something for a 3 year old. Failing that, get an appointment at the GP.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/impetigo/

This webpage might help you with managing it; while it's contagious, it's usually not serious, so try not to worry.

A pharmacy might be able to advise about symptom relief, so if you have one nearby you could try contacting them.

But please don't call your GPs bastards. Like the rest of us, they're hardworking people trying their best in a country where the health service is massively under-resourced and staff are massively over-worked.

Thank you she’s fine with no temperature just a snotty nose and cough she’s had for a few weeks now. Tried phoning the only pharmacy still open near me and surprise surprise, nobody picked up! 🙄

I only called them bastards as it’s very clear they were ignoring my call as it was towards the end of the day.

I don't think GPS ignore calls because it was 5.30 and near closing they were more than likely busy.

Thanks I just had a quick look at what I thought was the lesion and it’s faded a lot so thinking it was maybe where she caught it earlier. Will check again in the morning.

Just keep an eye out for scarlet fever. DD had impetigo first then developed scarlet fever and was diagnosed with strep A infection.
