What kidney problems does he have?

If kidney disease, then the Strep will cause more protein and blood in urine

And sometimes, Hospital help is needed

I would go tonight

I'd go to your local A&E, I think if you turn up at a urologist hospital without an apt you won't be seen.

I'd also try calling back 111, explain that you were expecting a call back etc but honestly what they're likely to tell you is to be seen at hospital within the next X hours.
If they wake in the night, will you know?

Is the amount of blood in the urine increasing? Is it significant?
Hoeo you can get it sorted quickly op

That sounds like a reasonably high amount of blood to urine ratio op, honestly I'd take him in now if it won't distress him too much being woken up.
