Hello all

i have noticed a ridge along the back of my daughters head. Has anyone seen this before? Is it normal? Should I be concerned?

whenever I search stuff online all I see is craniosynostosis. Is it this or could it be something else?

baby is 1 month old

Thanks

I think you should make an appointment for her to see the GP and ask them to confirm, for definite, for you that it is not craniosynostosis. It might be plagio/brachicephaly or just normal head ridges but it definitely warrants investigation. They will try to fob you off - GP refused to even glance at my baby until I insisted on the second visit then he looked like he had just peered into the pram to see Chucky by the expression on his face (my son's cranial deformity was different to your gorgeous little one's). But insist. It's probably nothing but it does need looking at.

Hmmm, looking at the picture I definitely wanted to feel the head, to check out the lamboid sutures. I would suggest getting checked out. It may well be nothing, and trying to assess from a picture is incredibly tricky, but worth seeing someone.

@Thebestdad did you find out from the GP what it is?
