Hand, foot and mouth blisters on bum

My 1 year old has got hand, foot and mouth. He has got the blisters on his mouth, hands, back of legs and on his bum. The ones on his bum look really really painful and two of them look like they have burst open? Is this normal? The doctor told me to go to a GP if the blisters get infected but not sure what to look out for?

Yeah pretty normal we all agreed when the kids got it they should call it hand, foot, mouth and bum disease. We just kept smothering in antiseptic and e45. It’s a really horrible virus.

My daughter had exactly this. Her bum was worse than anywhere else. The GP advised to use metanium on it and it totally disappeared in a few days

My friend who is a gp also calls it hand food mouth and bum! Hope your little one is on and it clears up quickly

ok good I’m glad this is normal! I have been using metanium looks really sore for him and screams when any cream is applied. How long does this last for from the blisters coming out do you know?

I found metanium to harsh for HF&M try sudo instead.

About a week, they will start getting better after a day or two

I had to get a prescription cream for my daughters bot when she had it!
