Can a 4 year old complain out of habit after getting better?

My 4 year old has been through a lot recently. Almost 6 weeks ago began complaining of tummy pain. Fast forward, we've been to dr, urgent care, ER, and pediatric GI, oh and ER again! Was told it was constipation- we've done two clean outs , labs, and stool samples ( only still waiting on the stool samples). The last x ray didn't show him to be constiapted anymore but he is still complaining of tummy pain off and on ALL day. My kids all do have quirks- anxiety, sensory issues, tics etc. I'm not ignoring this, and taking it seriously.. trust me I'm worried sick. But could he have simply formed a habit of saying it after saying it so much for weeks and weeks? Just wondering if anyone has been through anything similar?

I would want to know what the stool sample results (hopefully calprotectin) were as these can be crucial. Can he get distracted doing other things. I would be tempted to keep on pushing for an answer and only go to habit when other things have been ruled out.

Yes they are doing those stool tests. But yea he can say " my tummy hurtsss- oh look at that pick up truck!" He can go back and forth very easily
