How to dress a child with a fever when it's freezing!

DD is 6 so I should know this by now, but I'm always unsure! When it's warm outside I just strip her down to her underwear. But what do you do when your child has a fever in winter, particularly overnight when it's really cold? She usually sleeps wrapped up in the duvet, when she has a fever I have to peel it off her once she's asleep but she will wrap herself back up every time she wakes. I've tried giving her a sheet instead but she gets upset and wants the duvet or a blanket. Am I right to still put long PJs on her?

I had the same question earlier. Thermostat in our living room was reading 10oC this morning. I'd put the heating on and lit a fire but with a child with a temperature over 39oC wasn't sure what temperature the room should be or what to put them in. I have 3 kids but they don't get fevers very often.

Long PJs and a duvet, she'll throw the duvet off if she's cold but sometimes when you have a fever you feel very cold inside so let her wrap up.

DD2 had a fever at the end of last week.

She wore pyjamas and socks during the day, and had a light blanket to hand.

For bed, she wore long pyjamas and had her normal winter duvet, which she'll usually kick off during the night if she gets too hot.

You could replace the winter duvet with a summer/spring one?

Or put her in long pyjamas sleeves and short bottoms?

We also tend to give Calpol before bed too when she has a fever, even if she hasn't needed it during the day.
